LOVE … our true nature – namaste
Love is the only Light in life; all else is darkness. Unless you have Light, unless you have Love, you will not have Light at all. It is only Love that makes life a Light phenomenon. That is the meaning of the word ‘enlightenment’. It is Love that brings enlightenment. So meditate on Love, and not only meditate: act on Love. Never be afraid of Love, and whenever Love knocks on the door don’t hesitate to open it. Go with Love, take all the risks. You will never be a loser. ♥
I agree with the basic point: the importance of love; and l love linked to actions.
Love is such an equivocal word, though. Especially in our culture. I always found it helpful to think of love in layers: eros or feelings of attraction; friendship, or a reciprocal attitude of goodwill; and inclusive love, where one’s decision to love is self-less. Naturally, in any given relationship, there is usually a mixture. However my view is that the real test of the genuine nature of love is seen in the love of a parent for baby and small child, or above all, in loving one’s enemy — one who has harmed us or continues to do so.
As for love’s connection to “enlightenment”, I believe that we come to a greater realization of truth when we keep opening our hearts to others by word and deed. We may not be able to put it into words, but I think the confirmation of this is in the inner peace we experience. If this is widespread in a locality or culture, then outer peace grows too.
